Thaton River View Resort today is 97 kilometers from Chiang Rai and 175 kilometers from Chiang Mai by road. Daily river cruise on bamboo rafts and long tail boats in the northeast direction to Chiang Rai. Thaton is emerging as a gateway linking with Doi Mae Salong and Golden Triangle by a new highway. The main building serves as the reception area and the restaurant, and is regarded as the assembling point for people in the area who come to dine on seafood, supplied daily from the Eastern province of Chonburi.
